This is a small Iron meteorite specimen from the Campo del Cielo ("Field of Heaven") site situated on the border between the provinces of Chaco and Santiago del Estero, 1,000 kilometers northwest of Buenos Aires, Argentina. This particular piece has been welded with a small metal ring to be worn as a pendant, please note that due to the small nickle content that this meteorite contains if it is worn against bare skin it may cause irritation.

The crater field covers an area of 20 kilometers and contains at least 26 craters, the largest being 91 meters. The craters' age is estimated at 4,000-5,000 years. The craters, containing iron masses, were reported in 1576, but were already well known to the aboriginal inhabitants of the area.
